Aranyani has been a pioneer in mastering 24-karat gold-gilding on leather. Gilding gold is a technique for which no manual exists and the knowledge is passed on across generations as an heirloom. We have adopted this 2,000-year-old Indian heritage technique to depict the glory of the holy flower - Champa - on our bags. The Champa is one of the most well known trees in India. It is wise in its symbolism for the Hindu, Jain and Buddhist cultures. The flower of this small deciduous tree has a sweet, slightly woodsy smell that many people describe as calming, warm and moist. These gold-gilded pieces are investments for life.
